More than just an awards ceremony, the Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards is a national movement to document, preserve, and celebrate the corporate history of Ghana's most resilient institutions.
Ghana's business landscape is rich with stories of resilience — companies that have navigated coups, currency devaluations, recessions, and pandemics, yet remained standing. Too often, these stories go untold. The Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards was conceived to change that.
Recognising Longevity Above All
At the heart of the Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards is a single, powerful idea: that surviving — and thriving — over decades is one of the highest achievements a business can attain. While many awards celebrate recent performance, the Platinum Excellence Awards recognises the cumulative impact of an organisation over time.
Companies that have operated for 20 years or more in Ghana have done something remarkable. They have trained thousands of Ghanaians, contributed billions in taxes, withstood exchange rate pressures, and adapted to rapidly changing markets. They deserve national recognition.
The Four Pillars of the Award
The Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards evaluates businesses across four core pillars:
- Longevity and Endurance — Recognising businesses that have sustained operations for decades, proving their adaptability and relevance over time.
- Community and National Impact — Celebrating organisations that have transformed local economies, supported education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
- Leadership and Governance — Honoring ethical business practices, transparency, and sustainable growth strategies that ensure continuity.
- Innovation and Adaptation — Spotlighting companies that have evolved with the times while staying true to their founding mission.
20 Categories Across All Sectors
The awards ceremony will feature 20 distinct categories, each crafted to honour businesses across diverse sectors of Ghana's economy — from manufacturing, agriculture, and hospitality to finance, technology, healthcare, and social enterprises. There are also four special product awards recognising outstanding Ghanaian-made products.
Documenting Ghana's Corporate History
One of the award's most significant objectives is to document and preserve Ghana's corporate history. By featuring the stories of these enduring businesses, the initiative seeks to educate future generations about the challenges overcome, the innovations pioneered, and the unwavering commitment to excellence that defined these organisations.
"We are not just giving awards. We are writing the history of Ghanaian business excellence for generations to come." — Nii Saka Brown, Founder and CEO
The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for September 2026. Nominations are open at ghanaplatinumawards.com.
